Menace Ruine - The Die is Cast

"Menace Ruine came out of nowhere with a debut release that fused black metal and noise to astonishing results. Only eight months later, here they are with the follow up to their debut, “Cult of Ruins,”.

The Die is Cast sees the duo eschewing the howling vocals and blast beats and replacing them with majestic songs based around the vocal style of Genviève and the anthemic medieval music that bares much more resemblance to Neo-Folk than Black Metal. The band’s sound is far more approachable this time around, yet remains challenging at the same time. Somber tunes propelled by slow-paced martial percussion, ambient electronics and droning feedback are carried by an incredibly powerful vocal performance by Geneviève.

Menace Ruine set out to make a concept record based around medieval music, without sacrificing their intensity and they have managed to do so gloriously. With the current wave in the popularity of black metal, it seems like some of the more fringe genre’s such as neo-folk are also gaining more notoriety. Menace Ruine have taken that one step further by doing an entire recording in the martial vein. Folks familiar with Menace Ruine will be surprised when they hear The Die is Cast, but will still be able to connect to the band as the power that captured so many folks with their debut long player is still present.

Over the last year the band has been very active and performed live with the likes of Thrones, Nadja, AUN, Wolf Eyes, Daniel Menche, Francisco López, Sightings and Watain. The release of the Die is Cast will also see the band making their first series of shows outside of their hometown of Montreal. "

Vordr Demo 2008

Vordr est un groupe de black metal finlandais actif depuis 2003 composé , entre autre , du guitariste de Circle of Ouroborus .Il s'agit d'une compilation de  matériel de vieux et  récent   de  matériel du band. Malheureusement la cassette  ,sortit sur  Northern Sky Productions en 2008  ,est sold-out depuis longtemps , alors n'ayez pas mauvaise conscience .Bon je ne vais pas vous en parlez plus car je pense qu'au niveau du contenu  la pochette en dis assez long ..

Cold Cave - Painted Nails & Cold Cave / Prurient - Stars Explode

 

Cold Cave  est un groupe de synthpop expérimentale fondé à Philadelphie en 2007 .Personnellement je dois avouer que je ne suis pas friant d'habitude  de l'electro qui va tombe trop dans un son pop , mais Cold Cave  l'exploite ici de façon trés hypnotisante  avec beaucoup de distortion . Ce n'est peux être pas le  le ep le plus représentatif du son du groupe mais il vaut  la peine d'être écouté . Néanmoins son seul défaut est qu'il soit terriblement court ( ce qui ne vous empêche pas de l'écouté plussieurs fois remarque..) . C'est donc pourquoi je vais  faire une pierre deux coup  et vous faire partager  un split  du même groupe avec le projet expérimentale Prurient. Je vous avez déjà parler  de celui-ci  pour l'excellent split avec Akitsa c'est donc pour cela que je n'irai pas trop dans les détails . Mais pour  parler , de cette sortie qui date de 2009, il s'agit ici plutôt d'une collaboration  qui délivre un atmosphère très   plannant  et donne un peu comme la sensation de tomber dans l'espace. Malheureusement c'est deux opus sont sold-out  en version original depuis bien longtemps , mais  un version Lp de Star Explote est sortie  sur Hospital Production récemment et pour Painted Nails il vous reste Ebay .. Enfin sur ce bonne écoute !

"Ildjarn Is Dead"  est comme vous devez vous en douter la dernière sortie du légendaire one-man-band de black metal norvégien .Sortie  en 2005 sur Northern Heritage record  ce best-of constitu le dernier clou du cercueil d'ildjarn. IL st disponible en version CD limité a 2000 exemplaire et Vinyle limité à  500 exemplaires. Nous avons ici une compilation  allant des première demos  jusqu'à du matériel plus récent. Attendez vous ici a un black metal extrêmement primitif  ,low-fi et haineux.
